Welcome
Welcome to Our School
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The Trinity CE Primary Academy. We are a relatively new school, officially opened and dedicated by the Bishop of Salisbury, The Right Rev’d Nicholas Holtam, on 22nd June 2012. Although we are a new school we have a huge amount of history as we were formally St Peter’s C of E Primary School, located on Bath Road, Devizes.
The Trinity has been built to accommodate 210 pupils. We have grown considerably from the 90 pupils that opened the school to the 197 pupils that we welcomed at the start of this term.
We have fantastic resources, not only our team of hard working staff, but also our creative arts room, open plan library, multi use games area (MUGA), designated Early Years outside area, large playing field, pond and reflection / wildlife area, allotment and outside story telling area.
Our name ‘The Trinity’ and logo was decided upon to represent the three Church of England Parishes in Devizes linked with our school. Within these parishes there are four churches, each of which is represented in our full logo by a traditional image: the shell for St James, the dove for St. John with St Mary’s and the keys for St Peter. The cross in the centre speaks for itself. The children were fully involved in the design of the logo, and as a member of year 6 articulated “The Cross must be at the centre because Jesus is in the middle of everything we do”. The colours of turquoise and gold were retained from when we were St Peter’s school, and are distinct within the town. Underneath, the people represent children and adults – the family of our school. The stained glass window in which our logo now sits is the DSAT window showing that we are now part of a family of schools forming the Diocese of Salisbury Multi Academy Trust (DSAT).
Our vision statement: "With faith we live, learn and grow together" was created by everyone connected with the school and encapsulates the real essence of our vision for the school. We have faith in God but also in the choices we make and the aspirations we have. As a family we live, learn and therefore grow together. We are very much a team and value everyone's contribution in the development of the children we nurture and inspire every day.
On 1st July 2015 we converted to an academy with the Diocese of Salisbury Multi Academy Trust (DSAT). This has strengthened our drive for continued school improvement alongside our thirst for greater collaborative working. To find out more about DSAT please visit www.dsat.org.uk
In March 2018 we had our SIAMS Inspection linked our church school status. We were thrilled to be rated 'Outstanding' in all areas. In June 2018 we had our Ofsted Inspection and were delighted to be recognised as 'Good' in all areas.
Since April 2021 South Hills have run a nursery for 2-4 year olds on our site. They also run our wraparound care from 7:30am - 8:30am and then again from 3pm - 6pm. Please visit their website for more details.
I hope you find our website both useful and informative however do remember it will only provide you with a snap shot of what life is like at The Trinity. The best way to find out about a school is to visit it for yourself and to meet the children and staff first hand. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour if you would like to see us in action.
Kind regards
Hannah Allender
