    Our Biblical Foundation

"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing."

    Corinthians 13:2

The Trinity CE Primary Academy is fortunate to have a strong link with St James' Church. Children visit the church for all the key festivals of the Christian calendar to share celebration and worship with their families and the local community.

Our pupils value regular visits from Reverend Richard who is a familiar face in school for Collective Worship and other opportunities too.

The school receives a visit from the Open The Book team weekly too; they share Bible stories through Collective Worship in a child friendly way - always with some audience participation!

Our school Chaplain Heidi Boother supports us with seeing the positive outcomes in life and how our spirituality can guide us through challenges.

What does Spirituality do for our children?

To be in touch with your spiritual self means that you are self-aware.  Inevitably, spirituality requires reflection, introspection, questioning and engagement with ideas.  If we can breed the children’s spiritual being, then we can enhance their self-esteem, we can improve their empathy and relationships, we can allow them to find their place in the world, to value others and themselves.

To help the children understand their developing spirituality, we explain it using clear language and symbols. This explanation is displayed on a poster in every classroom and the symbols are used around school to show where evidence of developing spirituality can be seen.

    Love Languages

This year (2025-2026) we have introduced Love Languages.

What are they?  Discovering the 5 Love Languages, written by Dr Gary Chapman and sitting within the Christian understanding of a God of Love, Faithfulness, Forgiveness and Hope. It teaches children how to identify what makes them feel loved, as well as helping them to understand what makes others feel loved. In essence, it’s a way of helping children to connect positively with themselves, their family and peer groups and teachers.

    The five love languages :

1: Words of Affirmation vs. Harassment

2: Quality Time vs. Leaving People Out

    3. Acts of Service vs. Bullying

    4. Gifts vs. Bribery

    5. Safe Physical Touch vs Unsafe Physical Touch (Personal Safety)

Each week a different Love Language was introduced to the children. This was introduced in Collective Worship. Year 5 and Year 6 then focused in this in more detail with our Hub Chaplain - Heidi Boothe and Rob Jackson
