Top Tips for staying safe online at home

Here are some tips to help you to keep your children safe online:

Keep your computer in a shared area:

Talk to your child about what they are doing online and, if possible, set up your computer in a shared area at home so that you can all share in the wonderful sites that are available online.

Social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat)

Many of these sites have a minimum age limit of 13, so our pupils should NOT be using them.

Internet Matters

is a new online portal designed for parents to access simple, easy and practical advice about online safety for their children, right through from pre-school to teens. It provides tips on protecting children from online grooming, cyberbullying, privacy and identity theft and inappropriate content. Internet Matters is a not-for profit organisation set up by BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin Media.
